Meet Anthem: My New Kiln

Some seasons call for expansion.

For The Faithful Oak, that season has arrived. I’m so pleased to introduce Anthem, my new kiln and an important investment in the next chapter of the studio.

What began as a personal ceramic practice has grown into a creative business, with my work now carried by a select group of shops and spaces throughout the Sea Islands. As those relationships have grown, so has the need for greater production capacity and creative freedom.

The community studio where I’ve worked and taught has been an important part of my journey and I’m genuinely grateful for that chapter. However, as The Faithful Oak has grown, I’ve reached a point where having my own kiln makes sense, not only creatively, but as a business decision.

Anthem gives me greater control over my firing schedule and process, more capacity to produce collections, and the ability to work at a larger scale. It also gives me the time and space to explore sculpture, experiment with new forms and glazes, and develop ideas that require a little more room.

Most importantly, it allows The Faithful Oak to continue growing thoughtfully, to better serve the wonderful shops and spaces that carry my work while creating room for new opportunities ahead. This is an investment in the future of the studio and I’m very excited about what it makes possible.

Why Anthem?

An anthem is something we return to. Something that expresses what matters. Something that brings people together. That felt fitting for a studio built around made for gathering.

The pieces I create are meant to become part of people’s lives - to live on a table, in a home, and around moments shared with the people who matter most.

Anthem will help me create more of that work, at greater scale and with greater freedom.
