Handcrafted Pottery

by Danielle Jones

A selection of functional pottery created by hand, inspired by the natural beauty of the Charleston area and the Sea Islands. Each piece is thoughtfully made with an emphasis on form, texture, and everyday use.

This page offers a glimpse into my ongoing studio practice and recent work.

Studio Work & Recent Pieces

My studio practice centers on functional pottery alongside sculptural forms, created through both handbuilding and wheel work. I’m drawn to pieces made for gathering — meant for everyday use, shared meals, quiet moments, and the simple beauty of life at home.

In addition to my studio work, I am the Resident Potter at The Goatery at Kiawah River, where select pieces are available locally. My work can also be found at Kiawah River Finery and The Old Charleston Trading Company.

I teach pottery classes at The Red Barn Art Studio on Johns Island, welcoming both beginners and experienced makers into the studio. Ongoing classes and workshops are listed on the Events page, with private classes offered by request as availability allows.

From time to time, I participate in markets and pop-up events and also offer private sales by request. Custom commissions are approached thoughtfully and accepted on a limited basis, with an approximate lead time of two months.

Everything I create is rooted in the belief that art is meant to be used, shared, and gathered around.

Made to Use Everyday

My pottery is created to be used and lived with—pieces that belong on the table, in the kitchen, and in shared spaces. Each form is shaped slowly by hand, with attention to balance, texture, and function.

This page reflects an ongoing studio practice. New work becomes available as it is made, with select custom pieces offered by request.
